Group patchwork project

At the last sewing session we talked more about some  workshops over the summer, in felting and lino printing (more on this later) and also started a group patchwork project.

Patchwork project
Any group member, current or past, who wants to join in can make one or more squares which we can sew together when there is a critical mass. Let’s aim at February deadline.
There are some rules so that the squares have an element of consistency.
Use shirt-weight fabrics.
Use 30 by 30 cm base such as calico.
Cut scraps and applique them onto base, overlapping them, with raw edges.
Use machine or handsewing stitching.
Use a few of my scraps, mixed with your own, so there is a consistency between squares.
NB I  can supply base cloth, fabric scraps and hand embroidery threads at the sewing session or can mail to anyone who wants to join in but who cannot come to sessions.
I have done a sample, still in progress, to give you an idea. Let me know you want to do a square or if you need supplies. Barb
